One of the island's most common flowers, heather can be found on hillsides everywhere. The island is home to three different varieties of heather.

Bell heather has small, purple flowers. Other varieties of heather tend to be lighter in color, ranging from pink to white. The Manx name for bell heather is "freoagh clageenagh".
