Ground Ivy
Part of the mint family, this flower usually grows in shady places.
Ground ivy is said to have been one of the ingredients of the island's traditional "jough" beer.
While it has been used as food and in herbal medicines for thousands of years, there is some evidence to suggest that it is actually quite toxic, so it is best to avoid eating it.
The Manx name for ground ivy is "ard-losserey".
