Heath Pearlwort
Sagina subulata |
Mungan moaney |
May - September |
Calf of Man
|
Rare on the island, this plant has only been recorded in a few locations, including the Calf of Man and the Ayres.
The tiny flowers are easily missed, though they can form dense mats in the right conditions. Also known as "Irish Moss", it is actually most common in Scotland.
The Manx name for this flower is "Mungan moaney".
