Fairly common on the island, Brooklime can often be found growing in shallow water, but can also be found in damp grassy places.

Brooklime stays in bloom for longer than most other speedwells, making it most distinctive towards the end of summer.

This plant was once used as a treatment for scurvy, but was unlikely to have been a very effective cure as it is not very rich in vitamin C.
