Glen Mooar marks the coastline's transition from rocky cliffs to sandy beaches.

The forested glen contains many species of wildflower, including barren strawberry, wood anemones and bluebells. Barren strawberry is particularly common towards the top of the glen - a flower that is rare elsewhere on the island.

Other points of interest in Glen Mooar are the Spooyt Vane (White Spout) waterfall and the ruins of a chapel that may date back as far as the 8th century.
