This plant grows in salty ground near the sea.
Rock Sea Spurrey is very similar in appearance to Lesser Sea Spurrey and Greater Sea Spurrey. The difference is that Rock Sea Spurrey's petals are the same length as sepals and its flowers can have up to 10 stamens, while Lesser Sea Spurrey never has more than 7.
When the tide covers this plant, its petals close to form an air bubble which protects the flower.
