The Calf Sound and surrounding coastline offers an excellent habitat for coastal plants. Flowers such as bird's foot trefoil, sheep's bit and wild thyme can be found in drier parts of this area, while wetter parts contain bluebells, primroses, meadowsweet and three-cornered leek.
As well as flowers, the Calf Sound is one of the best places to see seals, as they emerge from the sea to bask in the sun on the rocks.
