Wild orchids can be found in many different places around the island, including the Ballaugh Curraghs, Eary Cushlin and the Ayres.

All orchids are protected species, so it is illegal to pick or damage them.

Orchid seeds are tiny and have no 'food store' of their own, so they must feed on nearby fungus in order to germinate.
